Wishing You Success In The New Year

Posted Thursday, Jan. 10th 2008 at 6:58 pm by Jason Hendricks

2008 has arrived, and I have to say I’m extremely optimistic about this year. I have BIG plans for my business and personal life, so it looks like it’s going to be a wild but fun ride. I don’t have any new year’s resolutions, because I try to work on my long and short term goals daily (as opposed to once per year with new year’s resolutions).

Posted Monday, Dec. 17th 2007 at 12:35 am by Jason Hendricks

I was checking on one of my sites tonight when I noticed something I’d never seen before inside the AdSense block:

Belated Blog Birthday and Favorite Post Recap

Posted Friday, Dec. 14th 2007 at 1:54 am by Jason Hendricks

Blog Birthday CakeI could write an entire post about how hard I think it is to blog about SEO. Oh wait…I already did.

I just noticed that I missed my blog’s two year anniversary. Sorry blog, Happy Birthday. :)

I still suck at blogging, but please make my blog feel better by reading some of my favorite posts so far:

Webmasters Of The World, Unite And Take Over

Posted Friday, Nov. 9th 2007 at 3:05 pm by Jason Hendricks

Mmmm...linkjuiceI wish I would’ve had time to finish/publish this post when I started it, but oh well. Better late than never I guess.

Sigh…what a crazy couple of weeks it’s been…yes I’m referring to Google’s scare tactics on paid linking and link networks. To be honest, I’m still trying to make sense of it all. It definitely left me scratching my head about some of the sites that were affected, including a few of my own.

Flip That Site: Make Money Online Buying and Selling Websites

Posted Saturday, Oct. 27th 2007 at 4:32 pm by Jason Hendricks

Two For The MoneyFor about the past year, I’ve been supplementing my income by purchasing (and in some cases creating) sites for the sole purpose of later repackaging and selling at a higher price. I’ve also gotten WAY more serious lately about domaining, or SEOmaining as it’s been coined, which is a much more accurate description. I’ll save that for a future post strictly about my experiences so far with domaining.

More On Google’s Paid Link Hypocrisy

Posted Tuesday, Sep. 11th 2007 at 5:00 pm by Jason Hendricks

You may have noticed that I removed a recent post that put a “SEO company” that had been spamming me on blast, but I’m trying to reduce the number of negative posts here. To be 100% honest, the emails I receive from scam/misinformed SEO firms are getting too frequent to address, which is unfortunate.

Instead let me take a minute to express my annoyance with yet another example of the hypocrisy that we face daily from Google. The “do as we say, not as we do” examples are piling up and getting really old. Guidelines should apply to both search engine and webmaster alike, or not at all.

SEOmoz Premium SEO Training Seminar

Posted Thursday, Sep. 6th 2007 at 12:55 pm by Jason Hendricks

I’ll be attending the SEOmoz training seminar on October 1st, and I’m actually making a vacation out of the trip. After sightseeing in Seattle we’re heading up to Canada. I’ve been to Victoria, BC twice and will be making my third trip there a few days after the seminar.

For anyone involved in search marketing, I highly recommend attending this particular seminar for several important reasons listed below in no particular order:

World’s Fastest Blog Redesign

Posted Monday, Aug. 13th 2007 at 10:36 pm by Jason Hendricks

I love WordPress. What’s not to love? I wanted to upgrade the backend of this site, and was able to within just a few minutes.

Yesterday I wanted to change the look and feel of this blog pretty badly, so I quickly created a new custom and easy to customize theme. Once uploaded, I spent maybe 5 minutes editing a few PHP and CSS files, and I’m done. You gotta love that.
